How Does My Player Improve?
I get this question a lot. I have also been hearing "The other teams are stronger." "The other team has better pitchers." Let me first say...we cannot run this program without volunteers and I appreciate our volunteer coaches...but they can only do so much with the time they have: once a week. For a player to improve it comes down to the player practicing on their own or with a family member at home. It involves attending clinics when we offer them. Take them to an indoor facility with batting cages. Take private lessons for hitting or pitching.
Please encourage your player to practice at home whether alone or with a family member. Register for our clinics and if feasible do prviate or group training. This is not only true for softball but all sports (baseball, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, etc.). It's the work you do outside practice that makes your player better.
BELOW ARE 3 FACILITIES WITH WINTER CLINICS FOR 2022. THEY ALSO OFFER PRIVATE TRAINING
Metrowest Sports Center - Ashland
I have been working with Metrowest Sports Center in Ashland who has set up clinics for Northboro-Southboro Girls Softball. I am very excited to be able to offer these and I hope you will take advantage of them. I cannot stress enough the importance of practicing in the off season to work on improving your skills.
These winter clinics have limited space as they are set up for small groups so I advise you to sign up right away to grab a spot. Clinics start in January. If there is not enough interest we will open the clinics to other programs. So....again...do not delay in registering.
We will be offering pitching clinics and hitting/fielding clinics. The pitching clinics with be with Lisa Strom, former ARHS softball coach and current coach at Framingham State College. She moved her schedule around to be able to work with us! For pitching clinics you will register your player who want to pitch and you will need to bring a catcher - no charge. Either a parent or another player.
